Pakistan’s rising golf star Ahmad Baig clinched second place at the Asian Development Tour (ADT) Championship in Cambodia, delivering a stellar performance at the event.
During the four-day event, the Pakistani Golfer delivered an impressive 19-under-par finish, showcasing his potential on the international stage.
Baig’s performance was highlighted by rounds of 2-under, 7-under, and two consecutive 5-under rounds on the final days. Despite leading the tournament after the first three rounds, he was narrowly overtaken by Thailand’s Nopparat Panichphol, who secured the title with a final round of 7-under, finishing just one stroke ahead of Baig.
The championship, which boasted a prize pool of $100,000, awarded Baig $11,500 for his runner-up finish. This achievement has propelled him to second place in the ADT rankings, marking a significant milestone in his burgeoning career.
The Pakistan Golf Federation (PGF) lauded Baig’s performance, noting that his consistent play throughout the tournament has garnered admiration from fans and professionals.
“Ahmad’s skill and perseverance have been exemplary, and his rise to second place on the ADT is a testament to his hard work” the PGF stated.
In addition to the Pakistani Golfer’s success in Cambodia, Baig recently made it to the Asian Tour’s International Series Morocco, earning an additional $20,300.
This further solidifies his reputation as a formidable competitor on the international golf circuit. Reflecting on his achievements, Baig expressed gratitude and optimism for the future, stating, “I’m thrilled with my performance and eager to build on this momentum for future successes.”
