The rumored massive camera upgrades for the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra didn’t come to fruition after all. According to the latest reports, only the ultra-wide camera will receive an upgrade to a 50MP ISOCELL JN3 sensor.
The rest of the camera setup remains largely unchanged: the main camera sticks with the 200MP ISOCELL HP2 while the 10MP telephoto module keeps the Sony IMX754 and the 5x zoom module retains its 50MP IMX854 sensor.
Galaxy S25 Ultra Camera Revealed
However, there is a refreshed look to the cameras. Leaked images from Ice Universe reveal a new design for the camera lenses, each now surrounded by a thick, dark ring, giving the phone a more bulky appearance.
This design agrees with the styling seen in other S25 model renders. It also mirrors the Galaxy Z Fold 6’s look, minus the bulky camera bump. The Fold 6 and S25 Ultra only differ since the S25 Ultra’s setup is not sitting on an island.
As a result, phone cases should now make the back of the device completely flat, adding to its sleekness.

Although the camera layout remains unchanged, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will distinguish itself with more rounded corners and improved ergonomics, making it lighter and narrower than its predecessors. While the design may feel familiar, we made subtle tweaks to enhance the overall user experience.
As per usual, the Galaxy S25 series is expected to arrive in January next year.
