PCB Set Up Local Training Camp for Players Ahead of Australia Tour

Six players selected exclusively for Pakistan’s T20I squad against Australia by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will kick off a training camp at the Hanif Mohammad High-Performance Centre in Karachi from tomorrow.

Jahandad Khan, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Omair Bin Yousuf, Sahibzada Farhan, Sufiyan Muqeem, and Usman Khan will undergo training camp from November 2 to 6 under PCB’s appointed personnel to sharpen their skills before their departure to Australia on November 10. Following the camp, the players will be allowed to briefly return to their hometowns.

Coaches Saeed bin Nasir and Abdul Saad, alongside physio Imtiaz and trainer Taimoor Mahmood, will lead the preparations to ensure the squad is ready for the challenge down under.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s ODI squad, led by newly appointed white-ball captain Mohammad Rizwan, landed in Melbourne on Wednesday.

Rizwan, along with vice-captain Salman Ali Agha and teammates Abdullah Shafiq, Aamer Jamal, Saim Ayub, Kamran Ghulam, Haseebullah, and Arafat Minhas, is set to join the rest of the squad for their final preparations from today after being given an extra day to rest.

Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Naseem Shah have already started their preparation for the tour after arriving in Australia with the first contingent. These players were recently rested from the last two Tests against England, following a challenging first Test, but are set to return in the ODI series against Australia starting on November 4.

Pakistan will play 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is against the Aussies, hoping to kick off Rizwan’s captaincy with an auspice sign.
