Despite a noticeable reduction in smog in Lahore on Sunday, the Punjab government is pressing ahead with plans to produce artificial rain in the provincial capital to further improve air quality, according to a report from 24NewsHD TV.
Raja Jahangir Anwar, Secretary of the Environment Protection Department, has urged residents to stay indoors to minimize exposure to poor air quality and protect themselves from infections.
He highlighted that numerous smoke-emitting vehicles have been seized, and brick kilns and factories responsible for pollution have been shut down.
“No leniency will be given to those violating the established SOPs, regardless of their status,” he stated. “Anyone found contributing to pollution will face legal consequences.”
