Shakib Al Hasan Signs Up for PSL 10 Player Draft

Former Bangladesh captain and veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has officially signed up for the player draft of the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Shakib Al Hasan has been a controversial figure of late in Bangladesh cricket due to his political affiliation. The veteran all-rounder has not been able to return to Bangladesh to play in final games for his country as there are criminal charges filed against him.

Shakib is the seventh foreign player to sign up for the PSL 10 player draft, joining a strong pool of international stars. The list includes his Bangladeshi compatriot Mustafizur Rahman, Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza, England’s Tom Curran, Dawid Malan, David Willey, and Jason Roy, as well as Australia’s Usman Khawaja. More international players are expected to join the upcoming draft soon.

The upcoming PSL 10 player draft is set to make history as it will be held in Balochistan for the first time, with the picturesque port city of Gwadar hosting the event on January 11, 2025. The decision to hold the draft in Gwadar is part of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) efforts to promote cricket in underrepresented regions and showcase the beauty of the country.

The draft will see six franchises—Lahore Qalandars, Karachi Kings, Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans, and Islamabad United—compete to build their squads for the milestone 10th edition of the league.
