Pictures from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) ongoing President’s Trophy Grade-I 2025 match between Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and Pakistan Television (PTV) at Karachi’s Oval Academy ground have gone viral for all the wrong reasons.
The pictures are of the players’ “dressing room” — a makeshift tent that looks more suited for a roadside dhaba than a professional cricket pavilion.
Players are seen awkwardly moving around with their equipment, changing into their gear in plain sight, while others sat on a handful of chairs management probably borrowed from a local shaadi nearby.
Fans wasted no time in roasting the tournament organizers for this shambolic setup. Comments ranged from sarcastic jabs to outright outrage, with many questioning how the PCB, which boasts about its commitment to improving Pakistan domestic cricket, could allow such conditions for a Grade-I tournament.
One user quipped,
Is this a cricket match or a village wedding? Even the catering tents at weddings are better than this!
Another sarcastically remarked, “PCB’s vision for domestic cricket: players should be ready to play anywhere, anytime—even in a parking lot.”
Amid the chaos of the infrastructure—or lack thereof—the match itself has provided some moments of quality cricket. On Day 2, Pakistan Television (PTV) were 260/4 in response to Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited’s (SNGPL) first-innings total of 406. Mohammad Taha led PTV’s fightback with an unbeaten half-century.
