The Punjab Education Department has announced plans to install advanced surveillance systems in schools across the province to strengthen security measures.
According to officials, security cameras will be placed at school entrances to monitor activity and improve safety. These cameras will feature facial recognition technology, allowing accurate identification of students, teachers, and visitors.
Education authorities will receive daily reports from the surveillance feeds, helping them oversee school operations more efficiently. The initiative aims to prevent unauthorised access, theft, and vandalism while ensuring a safer learning environment.
Additionally, the cameras will cover key areas such as hallways, playgrounds, and entry points. In case of emergencies, the system will provide real-time updates to authorities, enabling swift action.
With schools in Lahore and other major cities hosting large student populations, officials believe this step will significantly improve campus security.
