A Canadian woman arrived in Punjab, Pakistan, to marry her Pakistani fiancé after the two developed a relationship through social media, ARY News reported on Tuesday.
According to details, the woman traveled to Pind Dadan Khan in Jhelum, Punjab, accompanied by her parents, to marry Abdul Wahab, a Pakistani national currently residing in Dubai. The two reportedly met and bonded online.
Before the marriage, the Canadian woman embraced Islam in the presence of her family. The couple’s Nikah ceremony took place at Darul Uloom Muhammadia Rizvia in Jhelum.
In a similar case earlier, Anju, an Indian woman from Alwar, also traveled to Upper Dir in Pakistan, where she reportedly converted to Islam and married her Pakistani partner, Nasrullah.
The couple solemnized their marriage at a local court under the supervision of a district and sessions judge. Malakand Division Deputy Inspector General Nasir Mehmood Satti confirmed the Nikah and stated that Anju, 35, adopted the name Fatima following her conversion. Nasrullah is 29 years old.
