Islamabad United continued to ease through their PSL X campaign with another commanding win over Multan Sultans, consolidating their position at the top of the latest points table.
Shadab Khan’s men passed their toughest matchup of the season with flying colors, stamping out the Sultans by 47 runs in Rawalpindi, thanks to a clinical all-round performance led by Jason Holder and Sahibzada Farhan.
Having been asked to bat in a rain-delayed encounter, Islamabad United posted an imposing 202 for 6 on the board. United’s innings was built on the back of aggressive top-order batting. Sahibzada Farhan continued his fine form with a fluent 53 off 35 deliveries, laced with seven boundaries and a couple of sixes. He was well-supported by Colin Munro, who smashed 48 off just 25 balls at a blistering strike rate of 192.
Though United stumbled in the middle overs, losing Shadab Khan (14) and Azam Khan (4) in quick succession, Haider Ali (33 off 16) and Jason Holder’s late burst (32* off 14) ensured they crossed the 200-run mark—a total that looked well above par given the conditions.
Multan’s chase looked on course for the most part, but it quickly fell apart with wickets tumbling at regular intervals. Skipper Mohammad Rizwan tried to anchor the innings with a 27-ball 38 but lacked meaningful support.
Jason Holder returned to haunt Multan with the ball as well, delivering a match-winning spell of 4 for 25 to lead his side to another win.

| 1 | Islamabad United | 3 | 3 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 6 | 2.947 |
| 2 | Lahore Qalandars | 3 | 2 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 4 | 2.051 |

| 6 | Peshawar Zalmi | 2 | 0 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 0 | -4.550 |
Islamabad’s third comprehensive win in as many games firmly establishes them as the team to beat this season. Multan Sultans, on the other hand, find themselves grouped with Peshawar Zalmi, which does not bode well for their future. However, with eight fixtures still left, Mohammad Rizwan’s team still has some breathing room to make the playoffs.
The PSL X will head into its first mini-break, with action resuming on Friday as Karachi Kings take on the Quetta Gladiators.
