Lahore is Getting Hundreds of EV Charging Stations

The Lahore Transport Company (LTC) has launched a major initiative to promote environment-friendly transportation by setting up electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at 241 locations across the city.

According to a report, the company has begun identifying key spots within Lahore’s major parking areas to install these EV charging hubs.

A formal proposal has been submitted to the senior member of the Board of Revenue, seeking approval and land allocation for the project. The plan is designed to benefit both small and large-scale EV users.

A comprehensive survey is currently underway to ensure that the stations are placed at accessible and practical locations. Responding to the proposal, the senior member of the Board of Revenue has directed the LTC to begin immediate site identification and assured that land will be provided on a priority basis.

In the initial phase, the project aims to establish charging facilities for 1,100 electric vehicles throughout Lahore. LTC, which operates the city’s public transit bus system, was originally created to merge various transport companies under one umbrella with the goal of delivering high-quality, safe, efficient, and environmentally sustainable public transport.

With this new step, the company is taking a significant leap towards encouraging the use of electric vehicles and reducing urban pollution in the provincial capital.
