There are officially no unbeaten teams in the PSL 2025 after Lahore Qalandars thoroughly outplayed Islamabad United, handing them their first loss of the year and leapfrogging to second in the latest standings.
Lahore’s dominant 88-run victory at Gaddafi Stadium came on the back of a complete performance, set up by their batting and finished off with a tidy bowling effort.
After being asked to bat first, Lahore posted a massive 209/6, thanks to quick-fire knocks from Sam Billings (38* off 17) and Sikandar Raza (39 off 17). Their late assault gave the Qalandars a strong total, which proved too steep for Islamabad’s usually capable batting lineup.
In reply, Islamabad collapsed to 121 all out in just 16.5 overs. Haris Rauf starred with the ball, claiming 4 for 31, while Sikandar Raza picked up 3 for 20 in another all-round performance. It was Islamabad’s first defeat of the season and a huge morale boost for Lahore.

Lahore leapfrogged Quetta on net run rate to move into second place, while Islamabad remains table-toppers despite their heavy loss. However, other teams will now sense a vulnerability in Islamabad’s lineup and will be launching their bids for qualification as the table-toppers in the coming weeks.
With just a few matches left in the group stage, the playoff race is heating up, and nothing is as certain as it seemed just a few days ago.
PSL 2025 will continue tomorrow with a doubleheader, featuring Multan Sultans taking on Karachi Kings before Qalandars face Quetta Gladiators.
