Here’s When Peshawar’s First Jogging and Cycling Track Will be Inaugurated

Peshawar has completed its first-ever dedicated jogging and cycling track in Hayatabad, as part of Phase II of the Peshawar Uplift Programme. The six-kilometer track, developed along Hayatabad Khwar, will be officially inaugurated later this month by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.

Commissioner Riaz Mahsud, who is overseeing the project, recently visited the site and walked a portion of the track alongside engineers to inspect final preparations.

Built with modern features, the track spans 20 feet in width and includes greenbelts on both sides, each five feet wide, planted with trees and decorative plants to improve air quality and aesthetics.

At every kilometer, there are rest points featuring open-air gym equipment, public restrooms, tuck shops, and other basic amenities.

Commissioner Mahsud shared that two remaining portions of the track are over 70% complete and progressing quickly. He emphasized that this project is part of the provincial government’s broader goal to improve public health, promote eco-friendly urban development, and offer more recreational options for citizens.

The Hayatabad track marks a major step forward in encouraging healthy lifestyles in Peshawar’s urban areas.
