Strict Action Announced Against Parents of Underage Drivers

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore has ordered intensified action against underage drivers across the city, stressing that no leniency will be shown during enforcement.

According to the CTO, parents of underage drivers will be held responsible in case of violations, and strict legal action will be taken without exception. He said the campaign against underage driving has been ongoing for several months.

Between June 1 and June 30, a total of 33,277 challans were issued to underage drivers, and 251 FIRs were registered.

The CTO further instructed traffic wardens to take immediate action upon spotting underage drivers on the roads. Additionally, assistance from Safe City cameras has been sought to ensure real-time monitoring and enforcement.

Traffic staff stationed at the Safe City command center have also been directed to promptly identify violators and ensure swift action.
