IESCO Consumers Can Now Send Meter Readings Through Mobile App

Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) consumers can now submit their own electricity meter readings through the Apna Meter Apni Reading mobile application. The app, introduced earlier by the federal government, is now being used by IESCO.

The new system enables consumers to take a photo of their electricity meter reading on a specific date each month and send it directly to IESCO. This approach is intended to eliminate delays and errors caused by manual meter readings.

According to IESCO CEO Muhammad Naeem Jan, the initiative empowers consumers to track their usage and ensure more accurate billing. He said all IESCO offices have been equipped with the required tools and guidelines, while a public awareness campaign is also underway to educate users about the app and its benefits.

Jan added that the move will strengthen public trust and reduce billing complaints. The Ministry of Energy and the federal government continue to support technology-driven solutions to improve customer service and promote transparency across the power sector.

  • This app will not benefit the tenant because the only person who has the meter in their name can use the app, and no landlord is so lazy as to tell the tenant that you have used so much electricity.
