Lahore traffic police have launched a major crackdown against motorcyclists riding without helmets.
According to officials, thousands of motorcyclists were fined in the past 24 hours alone. Police officers themselves are not being spared—over 50 personnel have also been issued tickets for violating helmet rules.
This year, over 100,000 helmet-related fines have already been issued across the city. A few months ago, traffic police also distributed 3,000 free helmets to raise awareness.
According to Lahore’s Chief Traffic Officer (CTO), more than 90% of motorcyclists in Lahore are now wearing helmets regularly.
