Lahore Qalandars Expand Global Footprint With Landmark Deal With English County

In what is being billed as one of the most significant collaborations in county and franchise cricket, Lahore Qalandars have entered into a long‑term partnership with Warwickshire County Cricket Club (WCCC).

The joint venture aims to open new doors for talent development, grassroots investment, and global cricket growth, creating pathways for players, coaches, and communities on both sides. The initiative will roll out from 2026 onward, covering areas such as player and coach exchanges, academies, scouting networks, commercial ventures, and community‑driven projects.

Lahore Qalandars have built their reputation on unearthing raw talent from Pakistan’s streets and turning them into international stars, and their partnership with Warwickshire is seen as a natural extension of the franchise’s Player Development Program philosophy. The three‑time PSL champions have previously signed similar deals with Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), Yorkshire (YCCC), and several Big Bash League teams in Australia.

Now, those opportunities will extend to the UK, linking Lahore’s cricketing ecosystem with Warwickshire’s professional structures.

Lahore Qalandars’ COO and owner, Sameen Rana, called it a “landmark moment” for the franchise, stressing that the collaboration reflects their long‑held belief in thinking “beyond boundaries.”

Warwickshire officials view it as a chance to strengthen the club’s future while expanding cricket’s reach in Birmingham—a city with a vibrant South Asian community and deep cricketing ties to Pakistan.

“Collaborating with Lahore Qalandars is not only about cricket at the highest level, but also about creating opportunities that can transform the game at grassroots level,” said Abraham Khan, Finance Director at WCCC. “From youth pathways to community initiatives, this partnership puts us at the forefront of global cricket collaboration.”

Warwickshire’s ties to Pakistani cricketers run deep—and not only through Lahore Qalandars. Hasan Ali, Aamer Jamal, Wasim Khan, and Mir Hamza have all worn Warwickshire colors, underlining the trust between the two sides.

For Pakistan cricket fans, this tie‑up is another reminder of Lahore Qalandars’ growing footprint beyond the Pakistan Super League. From bringing Haris Rauf and Shaheen Afridi into the limelight to now joining hands with a prestigious county like Warwickshire, the Qalandars continue to position themselves as innovators driving the game into new territories.
