Pakistan’s Young Brigade Climbs ICC T20I Rankings

The latest ICC Men’s T20I rankings have brought a wave of change, with Pakistan’s young stars making headlines after a decent run of form.

For Pakistan, the focus on a younger core is beginning to bear fruit. Middle-order batter Hasan Nawaz has continued his upward trajectory, nudging up to 31st after a string of steady innings. Captain Salman Ali Agha, meanwhile, has climbed a remarkable 18 places to 59th despite the team’s mixed results in Bangladesh and the ongoing tri-nation series.

Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan continue to slip in the T20I rankings due to their absence from the international side, underscoring a generational shift in the squad’s make-up. Sahibzada Farhan and Saim Ayub also saw demotions as they come to grips with the standard of international cricket.

India’s Abhishek Sharma continues to lead the batting charts, followed by Tilak Varma, Phil Salt, Jos Buttler, and Travis Head.

The bowling charts have been equally eventful for Pakistan. The preferred spin-bowling duo of Sufiyan Muqeem and Mohammad Nawaz both climbed significantly—Sufiyan jumped 11 places to 22nd, the highest-ranked Pakistani bowler, while Nawaz rose 15 spots to 43rd.

Among the pacers, Shaheen Afridi moved up to 26th, while Haris Rauf slipped four places to 28th.

Though Pakistan’s T20I team has experienced mixed fortunes in recent months, there is no denying that the new names are rising and Pakistan’s next gen of cricketers is finally trending upward. If the youngsters keep stacking performances, the next update might not just be about climbs, it could be about crowns.
