Punjab is poised to witness a major transformation in its higher education sector as globally recognized universities finalize plans to open branch campuses in the province.
According to government officials, the University of London, Brunel University, the University of Gloucestershire, and the University of Leicester have all agreed to establish their campuses in Punjab.
In addition, a leading Kazakhstani university will also launch operations in the province, while South Korea is preparing to open a Korean University campus in Lahore. The Korean government has further pledged to set up a free language learning center to promote educational and cultural exchange.
Officials highlighted that the entry of these prestigious institutions will position Punjab as a regional hub for higher learning, giving local students access to international-standard curricula, advanced facilities, and world-class academic opportunities without leaving the country.
To support the initiative, the provincial government has decided to allocate space within Knowledge City and will issue standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure smooth establishment and operations of the campuses.
