The Islamabad Food Authority has issued new regulations for restaurants and food outlets to strengthen hygiene standards and food safety in the federal capital.
Under the updated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), chefs and waiters must wear caps, while all food handlers are required to use safety caps during work. The rule aims to ensure compliance with hygiene practices and prevent contamination.
Officials said that any restaurant or food point found violating these rules will be sealed immediately. The authority stated that the mandatory use of caps is part of broader efforts to promote cleanliness and public health in food establishments.
The Food Authority has also appealed to citizens to report outlets where staff members are not wearing caps, urging public cooperation to help enforce the new standards.
The Director of the Food Authority has directed field teams to carry out inspections and surprise visits across different areas to monitor compliance. He said the inspection teams will take strict action against violators and encouraged citizens to support these efforts by identifying non-compliant restaurants and food points.

Wearing caps etc are not necessary. The first thing to check is the standard of food. Quality, and cost as well.
Enforcing caps is like enforcing seatbelts in traffic. It doesn’t stop accidents or prevent under age drivers from murdering people.
Caps wont prevent expired food, dead chickens/goats being cooked and sold in restaurants. Lets not forget about donkey meat as well
That’s some really bad analogy, seatbelts are extremely important in traffic!
Hahahahaha
