Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab said that the Green Line Common Corridor is now moving toward completion after months of delays and public inconvenience.
He noted that residents faced difficulties throughout the construction phase but added that the route will significantly ease travel once operational.
Wahab said the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation had not been taken into confidence when the project first began, but coordination between city and federal authorities has now improved.
He stated that the federal government has finalized the timeline, and the Green Line Common Corridor is scheduled to open on October 31, 2026.
The mayor also confirmed that the government has resolved the pending issues surrounding the Red Line project. He said formal work on the Red Line will begin in the coming days.
