The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a 15-player squad for both the upcoming U19 tri-series in Zimbabwe and the ICC U19 World Cup, with Farhan Yousaf retained as captain.
The tri-nation event, involving Afghanistan, Pakistan, and host Zimbabwe, will run from 25 December to 6 January. It will act as a build-up for the ICC U19 World Cup, scheduled in Namibia and Zimbabwe from 15 January to 6 February. Both events will be played in the 50-over format.
Pakistan U19 are currently in action at the ACC U19 Asia Cup in Dubai, where they are set to meet Bangladesh in the semi-final on Friday, 19 December. The title clash of the eight-team competition is slated for Sunday, 21 December, also in Dubai.
There is just one alteration from the squad picked for the Asia Cup: right-arm pacer Umar Zaib has been drafted in, taking the place of left-arm spinner Mohammad Huzaifa for both the tri-series and the World Cup.
During the tri-series, Pakistan U19 is guaranteed at least four matches. The top two sides on the points table will move into the final, scheduled for 6 January.
