Pakistan U19 secured a place in the tri-series final with a dominant 133-run victory over Afghanistan U19 at the Sunrise Sports Club in Harare on Friday.
Batting first, Pakistan scored 238 for nine in 50 overs. The innings was built around solid contributions from the top order, with Sameer Minhas leading the scoring with a fluent 56.
Usman Khan added 43 off 59 balls, including three fours and a six, while Ali Hassan Baloch chipped in with 39 from 68 deliveries, striking one four and one six to provide stability in the middle overs.
In response, Afghanistan struggled against Pakistan’s pace attack and were bowled out for 105 in 30.2 overs.
Right-arm fast bowler Umar Zaib delivered a match-winning performance, claiming five wickets for 31 runs. His spell included early breakthroughs and key dismissals in the middle order, earning him the player of the match award.
Ahmed Hussain and Momin Qamar provided effective support, picking up two wickets each.
Earlier in the tournament, Pakistan had beaten Afghanistan by one wicket, while their match against Zimbabwe was washed out after the first innings due to rain.
Pakistan U19 will now face Zimbabwe U19 in their final league match on 4 January before meeting the same opponents again in the final on 6 January.
