Zimbabwe Announces T20 World Cup 2026 Squad

Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) has announced a 15-member squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. India and Sri Lanka will co-host the event from February 7 to March 8.

Experienced all-rounder Sikandar Raza will captain the Chevrons in the 20-team tournament.

Fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani has returned to the squad after recovering from a back injury. He replaces left-arm pacer Newman Nyamhuri, who was drafted into the squad for the tri-series as Muzarabani’s replacement but did not play a match.

Zimbabwe Cricket said continuity was a key factor in the selection process, with Muzarabani being the only addition to the squad that competed in the tri-series in Pakistan in November last year, which also included Sri Lanka.

Muzarabani is expected to lead the pace attack alongside left-arm seamer Richard Ngarava. Bradley Evans and Tinotenda Maposa will provide additional depth and flexibility in the seam-bowling department.

The remainder of the squad remains unchanged and includes experienced players such as Brendan Taylor and Graeme Cremer. Zimbabwe narrowly missed qualification for the final of the tri-series held in Pakistan.

Zimbabwe have been placed in Group B and will begin their T20 World Cup campaign against Oman at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo on February 9.

Zimbabwe will then face Australia on February 13 before travelling to Kandy to take on Ireland on February 17. Their final group-stage match will be against Sri Lanka on February 19.
