As the Pakistan Super League (PSL) prepares for a landmark expansion from six to eight franchises, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed the 10 groups that have qualified to bid in the auction for two new team licenses.
The auction is scheduled for January 8 at the Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad, with the new teams set to take part in PSL 11 from March 26 to May 3, 2026.
Here’s a look at all 10 bidders now cleared for the next stage:
Inverex (Renewable Energy)
Inverex Solar Energy, a leading renewable energy firm in Pakistan known for solar power solutions, was confirmed as the first qualified bidder. With a history of PSL sponsorship and corporate backing, Inverex aims to secure one of the new franchises.
OZ Group / OZI Developers (Real Estate)
Confirmed as a bidder, OZ Group, chaired by Hamza Majeed, operates in real estate and development (including OZI Developers). The company has publicly expressed interest in investing in sports and entertainment assets.
VGO Tel (Tech)
VGO TEL, a Karachi‑based mobile technology company led by CEO Naveed Gaba, has also qualified as a bidder, highlighting tech sector interest in PSL’s expanding commercial opportunities.
Jazz (Telecom)
Telecom giant Jazz, already a major sponsor and strategic partner to PSL in recent seasons, has been revealed as Bidder #4. Its participation reflects strong corporate appetite from one of Pakistan’s largest connectivity providers.
DSM Tareen Group (Business / Sports)
Led by businessman Ali Khan Tareen, former owner of the Multan Sultans, Tareen Group is among the bidders seeking to re‑enter PSL ownership after parting ways with the existing franchise.
i2c (Fintech)
Global fintech platform i2c, founded by US‑based Pakistani entrepreneur Aamir Waien, is among the reported bidders. The company specializes in payment and banking technology and represents international investor interest.
Walee Tech (Media & Fintech)
Listed among the qualified bidders, Walee Tech is understood to operate in media and financial technology, seeking to leverage PSL’s platform for broader digital engagement.
Prism Developers + Exchange ON (Property / Tech)
Prism Developers paired with Exchange ON is another bidder, combining property development experience with what appears to be a real estate‑tech offering. Their participation suggests cross‑sector interest in the league.
Kingsmen Group (Investments)
Kingsmen Group, an investment house, has also qualified, signalling that financial firms see franchise ownership as an appealing long‑term asset in Pakistan’s thriving T20 ecosystem.
Aim Next Inc (Tech & Innovation)
Aim Next Inc. rounds out the list, representing tech and innovation sectors that are increasingly eyeing sports properties as part of growth and branding strategies.
The successful bidders at the January 8 auction will gain the rights to two new PSL franchises and choose from a PCB‑approved list of home cities, including Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Hyderabad, Sialkot, Muzaffarabad, and Gilgit.
