Fifth Bidder for New PSL Team Revealed

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced Jazz as the fifth qualified bidder for the auction of two new Pakistan Super League (PSL) teams ahead of PSL 11.

The announcement was made through the PSL’s official social media platforms, confirming that Jazz successfully cleared the qualification process.

Jazz joins Inverex Solar Energy, OZ Group of Companies, Tareen Group, and VGO TEL Mobile, who were earlier announced as the first four qualified bidders for the PSL team auction.

Jazz, Pakistan’s leading digital operator, has a long history of supporting cricket in the country. Its partnership with the PCB reflects its continued commitment to promoting the sport at both grassroots and professional levels.

In the past, Jazz has actively supported the Pakistan Super League and has also contributed to the development of women’s cricket in Pakistan.

In addition, its digital entertainment platform, Tamasha, has been providing high-quality cricket coverage to audiences across the country.

The auction for the two new PSL teams is scheduled to take place on Thursday, January 8, at the Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad.

As part of the league’s expansion from six to eight teams, the PCB has carried out technical and financial evaluations of proposals submitted by interested parties. The process aims to ensure the league’s long-term stability and commercial growth.

Successful bidders will have the right to select a home city from a PCB-approved list, which includes Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Hyderabad, Sialkot, Muzaffarabad, and Gilgit.

The upcoming edition of the Pakistan Super League is scheduled to be held from March 26 to May 3.

  • The bidders should select Muzafarabad and Hyderabad as the new franchises as there are already Punjabi cities crowded in this League and expansion of this League fo over two new provinces will add a new flavour to the league
