Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram has been appointed as the President of Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Sialkot Stallionz. The team also unveiled its official logo during a ceremony held in Lahore.
The announcement was made at an event organized by Alpha Ozy Sports at a private hotel, where Akram was formally introduced as the franchise president.
Akram joined the ceremony online and expressed optimism about the team’s future. He reaffirmed his commitment to helping build Sialkot Stallionz into a strong and successful franchise in the PSL.
As part of the proceedings, the official logo of Sialkot Stallionz was revealed for the first time, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the franchise.
Head coach Tim Paine attended the ceremony along with co-owners Hamza Majeed and Muhammad Shahid. They pledged to introduce modern features to the Pakistan Super League while contributing to the promotion and improvement of cricket standards.
Alpha Ozy Sports Chairperson Sabiha Sultan also addressed the gathering. She extended her best wishes and announced plans to take practical steps for the promotion and development of women’s cricket in Pakistan. She said the initiative aims to create greater opportunities for female athletes.
Sultan described the move as a positive and welcome development for the league and for Pakistani cricket overall.
