The United States has canceled all visa appointments at its Embassy in Islamabad and Consulates General in Lahore and Karachi through Friday, March 6, citing the current security situation.
In an updated advisory, U.S. authorities announced that all scheduled visa services across the three diplomatic missions will remain suspended for the remainder of the week. No further details were provided regarding the resumption of regular appointments.
On Monday, the U.S. Consulate General in Peshawar temporarily suspended operations, effective March 2. At the same time, visa and American Citizen Services appointments scheduled for March 3 in Karachi and Lahore were canceled due to disruptions and traffic diversions around diplomatic premises.
U.S. officials also confirmed that government personnel across Pakistan have been instructed to limit movements as a precautionary measure.
In previous guidance, U.S. citizens were advised to monitor local news, avoid large gatherings, remain aware of their surroundings, and ensure their Smart Traveler Enrollment Program registration is up to date.
