Kerosene Oil Gets a Massive Price Increase

The federal government of Pakistan has increased the price of kerosene oil, according to a notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

Under the new notification, the price of kerosene oil has been increased by Rs. 39.20 per litre, setting the new rate at Rs. 358.01 per litre. Previously, kerosene was priced at Rs. 318.81 per litre.

The increase comes as the government decided not to raise the prices of petrol and diesel in the latest review in order to provide relief to consumers.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the government would keep petroleum product prices unchanged despite the surge in global oil prices, citing the administration’s commitment to easing the burden on ordinary citizens.

Under the current pricing, petrol will remain at Rs. 321.17 per litre while diesel will stay at Rs. 335.86 per litre until the next review of petroleum prices.
