The Islamabad administration has announced the closure of several popular hiking trails in the federal capital for April 9 and 10, extending a series of restrictions already imposed across the city.
According to a notification issued by the Office of the District Magistrate, Trail 2, Trail 3, Trail 4, Trail 5, and the trail behind Saidpur Village will remain closed to the general public on both days.
Citizens have been advised to avoid visiting these routes during the closure period and cooperate with the administration.
The latest order adds to the wider measures introduced in Islamabad over the past day, including local holidays, the closure of educational institutions, and restrictions on heavy vehicle movement in the capital.
The trail closures appear to be part of broader administrative and security arrangements in Islamabad ahead of expected high-level official activity later this week.
Authorities have already declared local holidays on April 9 and 10, while educational institutions across the capital have also been affected by closure notifications.
At the same time, police have imposed restrictions on the entry of heavy vehicles into the city, pointing to a wider security and traffic management plan.
These developments come as Islamabad prepares for what is widely being seen as a highly sensitive diplomatic week. The federal capital is expected to host important official engagements linked to the reported US-Iran ceasefire and possible follow-up talks.
Authorities have not announced any extension beyond April 10 so far, but further restrictions could depend on the evolving situation in the capital.
