All You Need to Know About Rawalpindi’s New Traffic App

Rawalpindi has launched a new digital traffic challan system called One App, introducing evidence-based enforcement aimed at improving transparency and accountability in traffic policing.

The newly introduced One App is more than just a digital challan tool. The platform brings together traffic enforcement, identity checks, vehicle verification, and violation history in a single system designed to make road policing faster, more transparent, and easier to verify.

At the heart of the app is an evidence-based challan system. Traffic violations are recorded on video and stored securely, while challans are issued only after supporting evidence is available.

The app also allows officers to verify a driver’s CNIC and driving license on the spot, either manually or through QR-based checks.

Another major feature is instant vehicle verification. Officers can check ownership details, vehicle fitness certificates, route permit validity, and excise-related data through the same platform. The system can also be used to identify stolen vehicles, giving it a wider policing role beyond ordinary traffic challans.

One App has also been built as an integrated platform linked with multiple government departments and databases.

These include license verification, criminal record checks, e-challan and violation history, FIR status, vehicle ownership records, route permits, and vehicle fitness certification.

The platform is not limited to standard traffic tickets either. Material shared by officials shows it includes modules for licensing, education, encroachment, accidents, driving schools, environment, and congestion.

Citizens, meanwhile, can receive traffic violation details through QR codes, adding another layer of traceability to the enforcement process.
