Lahore Traffic Police Launches New Facility for Rickshaw Drivers

The City Traffic Police Lahore (CTPL) has introduced a special Sunday licensing facility for rickshaw drivers to make it easier for them to obtain driving licences and comply with traffic regulations.

Under the initiative, rickshaw drivers can apply for driving licences every Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Manawan Licensing Centre, where dedicated arrangements have been made to facilitate applicants.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi said the initiative is aimed at improving road safety and traffic discipline by ensuring drivers have adequate knowledge of traffic laws, road safety measures and responsible driving practices.

He said the special facility has been established to encourage rickshaw drivers to obtain licences and become part of the legal framework governing road transport.

Shirazi added that the City Traffic Police Lahore is also conducting awareness lectures and training sessions for rickshaw drivers to improve their professional skills, understanding of traffic rules and safe driving habits.
