Attock Electric Bus Service Routes Revealed

The Punjab government on Wednesday launched its first electric bus service in Attock, introducing nine electric buses under the Green Transport Initiative to provide affordable, safe, and environmentally friendly public transportation.

The buses will initially operate on two major routes. One route will run from POF Sanjwal Barrier No. 2 to Hazro via Bab-i-Attock, covering 26 bus stops, while the second will operate between Government College of Technology, Dhok Fateh, and Attock Khurd, serving 19 bus stops.

The government announced that students, women, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities will travel free of charge on the new buses.

The inauguration ceremony took place at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, where participants watched Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s address via a live broadcast. The launch marks the first phase of the electric bus project in Attock and forms part of the Punjab government’s broader plan to modernize public transportation and promote clean energy.

Speaking at the event, MNA Sheikh Aftab Ahmed described the project as a major public welfare initiative that will provide residents with comfortable, affordable, and modern transport while easing commuting challenges.
