The Lahore High Court (LHC) has reserved its verdict on the maintainability of a petition seeking an inquiry into the paper leak scandal and alleged corrupt practices at the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC).
On behalf of the petitioner, Advocate Safdar Shaheen stated that the PPSC had recently conducted several examinations of which the questions papers had been leaked.

He said that this is crucial as the PPSC recruits individuals to influential positions in several departments and disciplines, and gives them the authority to draft policies for the country.
The advocate argued that many illicit and corrupt practices in the PPSC had led to the recruitment of unworthy candidates to important posts, thus allowing for a mafia to become part of the government and the system.

The counsel also requested the court for a high-level committee to be constituted to trace and penalize those involved in corrupting the PPSC.
After hearing the arguments, Justice Faisal Zaman Khan, reserved his verdict on the maintainability of the petition.
