First off, cut power to your laptop. Take the battery out and remove power cable (if connected).
- Unscrew only the screws relevant for disassembling the part of your laptop you need to take off. If you notice it, there are signs engraved alongside each screw as a guide.
Considering the above bullet, take out all the relevant screws and make sure you keep identical screws separate from the different ones.
- Gently detach the touch-pad portion and carefully disconnect its wire from the laptop.
The internal circuitry of laptops is a delicate piece of hardware.
- Carefully locate the wiring mechanism holding the keyboard together. Gently lift the keyboard component and disconnect it from the internal circuitry.
A laptop’s keyboard is thinly wired to the motherboard. Any wrong movements might damage the connector and you’d have to get a new one. So again, be careful.

There’s a number of things you need to clean what’s clumped on the inside. Visit any local store selling hardware cleaning materials and get your hands on:
- A bunch of cotton buds
- A hardware cleaning cloth
- Dust removal spray
- A new laptop (if your old machine is beyond cleaning)

Of all the materials you’d need to clean the inner circuitry, a dust removal spray would work for now. The remaining material shall suffice when the external body of the laptop starts harboring dust.
Now, take your dust removal spray and blow it all over the laptop. The fans deal with most of the dirt, so concentrate most of the spray on its blades. Later, spray the processor and the memory components.
