Who’s Imran Ashraf Favorite Character from Ehd-e-Wafa?

Netizens approve!

Ehd-e-Wafa

Imran Ashraf can’t get enough of ‘Gulzar‘ from Ehd-e-Wafa. Recently the actor tweeted praise for the wildly popular Ehd-e-Wafa character.

The Dil Mom ka Diya actor posted a picture of Gulzar Hussain on twitter with the caption,

“Maza a gaya gulzar what a performance!”

The actor is among many who enjoy Adnan Samad Khan’s performance as the lovable, comedic character Gulzar on the HUM TV show.

Adnan Samad Khan is a National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA) graduate who made his debut in episode 6 of the ISPR-funded drama serial.

Ehd-e-Wafa is a sequel to the Pakistan Television Classic ‘Alpha Brave Charlie‘. Faraz Inam, a star of Alpha Bravo Charlie, actually plays a senior officer in Ehd-e-Wafa.

Much like the original, it show follows the stories of four friends in a military cadet college in Murree. It follows their trials and their antics as they work towards entering the military.

This time around some of the friends ended up without a military career. Yet, other characters were introduced that do highlight the life of a soldier (in the making).

Adnan Samad Khan plays a military cadet in the middle of training who hails from Basti Malook in Dera Ghazi Khan.

The show’s twitter fans love the character’s silly flubs and his inspiring backstory. Gulzar comes from nothing but only wishes to serve his country.

One of his pivotal scenes involves him comically failing a test and then rising above in episode 8, earning Gulzar a wide fanbase. Netizens have spoken and they are clearly loving Khan’s facial expressions and comedic talent.

The show is much loved by audiences. It evokes nostalgia for classic TV shows like 1998 Alpha Bravo Charlie and 1990’s Sunehray Din.

Ehd-e-Wafa cast Osman Khalid Butt, Ahad Raza Mir, Ahmed Ali Akbar, Zara Noor Abbas, and Wahaj Ali as the main characters.

Seife Hassan is directing the serial and Mustafa Afridi penned the script. This is the talented duo’s first production after the Swat story Sang-e-Mar Mar.

Although the show is well-produced and written, the ages of the main cast were a subject of controversy online.

Some fans thought that the older actors were just not believable as cadets while others defended the casting choice.

Even if the casting choice was confusing, the main cast seems to be having fun all the same. Ahad Raza Mir and Osman Khalid Butt posted pictures of the main cast on Instagram as part of the “SSG” fraternity. (you won’t know if you don’t watch the show).
