More About Honor V30 Pro
Honor V30 Pro price in Pakistan & specs:
Honor V30 Pro price in Pakistan is Rs 88,999. It is very premium Hardware that, in almost every aspect, can go toe-to-toe with the best phones out there. The only part of the Hardware that falls short of a premium flagship phone is that it has an LCD panel, and it’s ultimately a hundred percent flat. Whereas, you know nowadays on all flagship phones we get, all that panels are curved on the sides, even if they’re not drastically curved, they’re a little bit bent.
The Huawei V30 ships without Google Apps, and you cannot install them manually unless you do some backdoor hacks. We do not recommend so if you’re just an average user who is not used to rooting your phone, who’s not used to opening backdoors and just really geeky. You’re not going to be able to run Google Apps on this phone. You can run Gmail on this phone perfectly fine, using Huawei’s email app, but you won’t be able to install Google Maps or YouTube app on this. So it’s up to you whether or not you want to put up with this. All the apps work fin, and you are only losing Google Maps, YouTube the app, and Google Drive, Google Docs.
Design and Display:
When you run your hand through the phone, it feels pretty smooth, whereas on these mid-tier Chinese phones, when you run your hand to a phone, they tend to have a little bit of a sharp edge. But, considering the price on this phone, this is a minor nitpick. So, this screen even though it’s LCD, it looks gorgeous. Viewing angles are excellent, outdoor visibility is good, and the colors are very vibrant and very punchy.
On the back, there is a glass body, but it’s a matte coating, and we like this. The best thing is, it does not trap fingerprints, and it’s still relatively grippy; it doesn’t slide off the hands that easily. We think all phones should use matte coating now, instead of shiny glass finish, that looks good out of the box for like two seconds, and it looks nasty when there are smudges and fingerprints.
Camera:
You have a hole-punch display right at the front, housing – selfie cameras. You have a 32-megapixel primary camera and then an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera for selfies.
For the wide-angle camera, you need perfect sunlight. If you’re indoors or like on the dim settings, you can get Frame mushy selfies that are still usable, but it just doesn’t look that good.
You have a triple camera system; Honor calls it the matrix camera system. It’s headlined by a 40 megapixel F 1.6 sensor; this is virtually the same lens that we saw in a previous Huawei mate 9 Pro. That is awesome because that is a flagship camera that can go toe-to-toe with the iPhone and Google pixel as the best cameras on the market.
Below the primary lens, there is an 8-megapixel telephoto zoom lens. That allows you to get 3X zoom, 10X hybrid zoom, and 30Xdigital zoom. With these specs, we can expect that even a ten times hybrid zoom will look very clean and sharper than ten times zoom on the iPhone 11 Pro.
Now the wide-angle camera of the Honor V30 Pro has all the pros and cons of the wide-angle camera of the Huawei mate 30 Pro. So, first of all, the Pros. Even though you’ll be shooting wide-angle images, there’ll be virtually no distortion, and details will still be very sharp.
In terms of sharpness, clarity, and just the dynamic range, it’s very similar between the primary camera and the wide-angle camera. For the cons, the field of vision of the wide-angle lens or on V30 Pro, is not that wide. You’re not getting that super-wide, ultra-wide field of view you would get from something like a flagship phone.
We don’t have any complaints. If we talk about the camera, the specs are mind-blowing. The zoom system for a phone at this price range it’s excellent. The image processing is unique, and also this phone’s image sensor size is just more significant than any other phone at this price range. The selfie camera is only okay at night. It not that terrible, but it’s there are better selfie cameras out there. Video stabilization is pretty good too; we call it the King for a mid-tier phone.
Performance and Hardware:
Inside this phone is a Kirin 990 with eight gigs of RAM. So, yes, these are the same hardware components, as seen in the Huawei mate 30 Pro. So this is why the Honor V30 Pro is such a damn good deal.
For the most part, this is a competent phone. There is no in-display fingerprint sensor in this phone. Instead, you have a side-mounted fingerprint sensor that doubles as a power button. The fingerprint sensor works flawlessly every single time, and you place your finger on it, and it’ll unlock. This phone is 5G ready, and it’s not just the standard 5G, that you get from other 5G phones. That is dual-mode 5G because Huawei is the biggest telecommunications company in the world. They make 5G networks for probably like half of the world right now. So, that explains how Huawei was able to put dual-mode fancy modems into this phone at such an affordable price range. So, this phone can connect you with more 5G bands right now than any other flagship phone.
This one runs on Android 10, this is the AOSP Android Open Source Project version of Android ten, and it’s skinned with Honor’s software called magic UI. Magic UI, it’s, to be honest, very similar to Huawei EMUI. For the most part, all the app icons are very similar and even comes default with the Huawei app store. The software experience is going to be virtually the same as previous honor or Huawei devices from the last few years.
Final Verdict:
Overall the Honor V30 Pro, it’s an impressive handset, especially at this price range, but ultimately you have to decide. Can you handle the fact that this phone cannot run Google at least without doing some hack? If you okay with that, then for a fantastic price, you’re getting a compelling phone with a competent camera and 5G connectivity. Although we don’t have 5G in Pakistan, this phone is future proof, so it means even 2021, 2022, when you get 5G, this phone will be ready to go. So guys, let us know about your thoughts on this premium Honor V30 pro.
