More About LG V50S ThinQ 5G

LG V50S ThinQ 5G price in Pakistan & specs:

LG V50S ThinQ 5G price in Pakistan is expected to be PKR 139,999. The phone has already released in US and Korea. The LG V50 is a different phone; it can support 5G networks, so that’s the big sell here. That is the review of the upcoming LG V50 ThinQ 5G. Of all the 5G phones announced in 2019, this phone hasn’t gotten a lot of attention, the latest from LG’s V series.

But you know what, the detachable screen accessory might convince you to buy one. But that’s not the only cool thing about the V 50, we’re also going to take a look at the detachable dual-screen, that you can attach the phone too. We hear a lot of buzz about foldable phones, and this V 50 will have a second screen option. So, the second screen here will turn on, and then you’ll have a sort of a foldable smartphone. So, it’s a different take on the whole idea. So let’s take a quick look.

Design and Display:

The V 50 is your typical all-glass smartphone with slightly curved edges and rounded corners. What we like most about its design is that the cameras are flushed against the body of the phone. There is nothing protruding.

Who remembers knock-on? You knock on the display in a pattern instead of using a pin code. That is an LG feature from many many years ago. Unlike most of this year’s flagships with under-display fingerprint scanners, the V 50 still has one at the back of the phone.

On the bottom of the phone’s backside are the Pogo pins that connect the phone to the dual-screen. There’s also a 5G logo that lights up on charging or when Connected to a 5G network.

The LG dual screen is an accessory made specifically for the V50. It’s like a case with a display built-in. The display is on the inside of the plastic cover, there’s a cutout on the back so you can reach the fingerprint scanner and cameras. By the way, there’s no built-in battery, so the V50 powers this dual-screen.

You insert the side with the power button first and then push on the other side to snap in place there. After that, the second display will automatically light up, and the wallpaper matches. It’s not a duplicate, and it continues like it’s part of a larger painting. The primary way to switch between both displays is the floating button on the left. This button lets you move and open apps to the dual-screen.

If we talk about the specs, it’s a 6.2 inch OLED display, not the same size as the V50, which is 6.4 inches 3120 by 1440 P-OLED screen. We don’t like this feature, because when you take a close look, you’ll find that the filters aren’t equal inside and there’s no symmetry. The dual-screen has a broader forehead and chin.

There’s a dock that’s independent of what’s on the pier of the main screen. And when we dive into dual-screen settings, you can pick a different wallpaper and set an app to launch every time you open the dual-screen. For example, let’s choose Instagram, now every time you open the dual-screen, Instagram should start.
So why would you need two smartphone screens instead of one?

You can’t go into tablet mode like most of the flexible phones that are coming our way. Still, we can see how this might be helpful for multitasking — being able to continue watching a YouTube video while maybe answering an email or responding to a text message.

Now let’s talk about Google docs, your documents list can be on the right, while your new document can be on the left. The more practical uses of this kind of form factor are for gaming. Let’s talk about Asphalt 9. Whenever you launch a dual display, you have the option to start a gamepad; this turns the main screen to a game controller. There’ll be different controllers to choose from; console, racing, arcade, and Basic.

In a world where we’re always multitasking, we can see why dual displays are becoming a thing. Possibilities are limitless, but applications need to be built to support it better. So, this is LG’s answer to foldable screens smartphones, at least for the interim. It might be thicker than your typical smartphone, and you can fold the display all the way around. So it feels like you’re using any other smartphone, or you can unfold it if you need two windows open.

Performance:

It’s got the 855 Snapdragon in it, 6 GBs of RAM, and a four thousand milliamp-hour battery. We mean, it’s pretty much flagship specifications, including 128 gigs of storage on top. The phone has got IP68 certification, which means it is dust and water-resistant. It has also got the protection of Gorilla Glass 6 on the front and back.

Camera:

There are five cameras on the V 50, 12MP primary cameras, 12MP Telephoto camera, 16MP camera, and two selfie camera, a standard 8MP and 5MP Wide camera.

The 16MP lens is capable of shooting 4k videos with electronic image stabilization. We love the way the focus takes place too, it grabs it excellent and quick, and it’s like a vibration on the phone when you have caught attention to let you know that you should snap.

The wide-angled images are sharp, and the best-looking. There are a lot of other modes available. There’s a studio mode here which is going to do some fancy lighting effects, and there’s, of course, also portrait mode. On this phone you can control the amount of blur that you’re getting, so you can kind of tune it yourself. There’s also an AI cam mode, that aims to figure out what it is you’re shooting, and there’s a full-out manual mode for the pros out there.

Final Verdict:

Specs-wise, it is a premium phone, but way too expensive. Regarding its 5G support, it is not very successful in Pakistan. After successful tests conducted by Zong, we might expect a successful 5G launch by the end of the year. In our opinion, you should only buy this phone if you are a fan of multitasking, detachable screen, and gaming. Comment below so we can know about your thoughts.
