More About Nokia Lumia 800
Nokia Lumia 800 price in Pakistan & specs:
Nokia Lumia 800 price in Pakistan will be around 21500Rs. The handset will release at the end of January 2020 in Pakistan. The Nokia Lumia 800 will be Nokia’s first phone running Windows Phone 7.5. It’s an exciting prospect as what Nokia does is take a great OS and jam it full of their apps as well. They don’t change the UI, which is pretty good because we like the UI.
Along with that, you’ll get an exciting app like Nokia Drive, Nokia Maps, which will look amazing. You’ll also get Nokia music, which is a new proposition from them. Though we’ve had Nokia music before it’s never been quite like, we’ll explain the reason later. After a lot of research, let’s take a look at detailed features.
Design:
First off let’s take a look at the design of the handset, the screen of the Nokia Lumia 800 looks pretty decent. There will be 3.7 inches at WVGA, what you can expect though is a slightly smaller screen than their n9 to accommodate for the capacitive buttons directly below the handset. The AMOLED display will deliver huge blue hues when viewed at an angle, and this is predominantly noticeable in web viewing. The screens will look very friendly, responsive, and colors vibrant and vivid. Due to that, everything will pop, and the blacks will be very capacitive and deep, working very well with the Windows Phone OS.
There will be three capacitive buttons below the screen, to the right-hand side of the handset is a volume rocker, power button as well as a camera button. At the top end of the unit will be the 3.5 mm headphone jack, a sim card port as well as a micro USB port which will hide under a slightly flimsy flap. On the back of the Nokia Lumia 800, there will be an 8-megapixel camera accompanied by a dual-LED flash. In terms of the overall design, the handset looks and feels very slick and unprecedented.
The addition of a camera button on the right-hand side makes it very handy if you’re a keen happy snappy photographer. The OS as well works very nicely with one-handed usage, and the hardware seems to complement the Windows Phone operating system very very carefully. While we would have liked a slightly larger screen, the capacitive buttons are necessary for Windows Phone, so we can appreciate why the screen size was small. If we talk about interface, you’ll have beautiful live tiles and a list of apps on the right side, which make everything look incredibly smooth.
Nokia Apps:
Now let’s move to Nokia Apps, the first one is a Nokia drive. Nokia Drive is a fantastic turn-by-turn voice-based GPS that you’ll get on all the Lumia 800 for free. The application allows you to go straight into the settings, where you can download any area map for an impressive turn by turn GPS navigation experience.
But going away from Nokia drives you’ve also got Nokia Maps in the store, unfortunately at the moment, this will only be in beta. What’s careful about the Windows Phone UI is you’ll get a beautiful user interface and the map options that you’ll get straightforwardly and appealingly.
Now let’s talk about Nokia music; it enables you to view your music as standard effectively. We’ll also have a mix radio in the app; this will provide you with a series of pre-prepared playlists. You will also be able to download music for offline use and download your favorite celebrity’s playlist in just a few touches. There are some limitations; you can’t view all the songs in a ListView, you can only skip up to about 6 tracks at a time and you do have to renew the offline content after 4 weeks. However, it certainly is an excellent addition, and the fact that we’ll have offline listening makes it entirely usable.
Camera:
As far as the camera module goes, the phone will produce some pretty good pictures overall with an 8-megapixel sensor and an f-22 lens. We really expect the high things from the Nokia Lumia 800, unfortunately the performance might be inconsistent. Nokia’s touch to focus will work exceptionally well on the handset. We might expect a few things, such as colors, to blow out; it doesn’t handle noise very well. According to leaks, the shots will sometimes look extremely grainy, while some shots will be stunning and atmospheric. So even though noise handling isn’t all that great, it will still manage to deliver some stunning shots. It isn’t a bad camera, so if you want to just happy snap here and there, it should suffice for your needs.
As far as video goes, the video will 720p video, and continuous focus can be a little bit sticky, unfortunately. Detail levels will be proper, and noise won’t be wrong with the dual-LED flash helping with the situation.
Performance:
As far as enjoying the content on the handset goes, you can enjoy videos very simple, and the video browsing will be very smooth. The Lumia 800 overall offers a comfortable, intuitive experience in terms of audio and video. If we talk about connectivity, you’ve got your standard GPS, Wi-Fi, and 3G, etc.
The phone has got 1.4 gigahertz core Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon processor, and we do have no complaints at all. The chipset will perform very nicely, web browsing will be very smooth, and the internet function will be very swift. However, this doesn’t apply to videos because there will be no flash support, and the inbuilt YouTube might perform very poorly.
Battery:
As far as battery life, you can expect a 1450 mAh battery capacity to get the full day out of the Nokia Lumia 800. If you’re conservative, you may be able to get a day and a half to two days out of it the handset.
Final Verdict:
We are impressed by what they’ve managed to do. Getting a Windows Phone 7.5 handset to market that not only works but works very well indeed. Sure certain things could be better; it could have a better battery life, a selfie camera, a larger screen, improved chipset. We rate it 4.2 out of 10. Let us know which features did you like the most, and do you think the price of Nokia Lumia 800 in Pakistani justified?
