Samsung Galaxy A30 is a mid-range smartphone by Samsung. It’s price in Pakistan is PKR 37999.
The phone comes with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage. The phone did compete when it first came out, but in 2020, even the numbers on the specs sheet look poor. The 4 GB RAM is enough for multi-tasking but the out dated eMMC type storage makes app load slower.
Samsung’s mid-range SoC, the Exynos 7904 has much lower threading power than we get from some other chipsets in 2020. You can game on this device, but it won’t be as smooth as you would expect.
The plus point here is the good sized screen and Samsung’s Super AMOLED. The screen looks good to look at, and will provide an immersive experience to people who use their phones to watch online shows or movies.
The back of the phone is equipped with 2 cameras, a 16 MP main shooter and a 5 MP ultra-wide lens. Although Samsung’s image processing algorithms are quite good, the A30 can not shoot crisp photos. They do a “okay-ish” job, but you should not expect anything superb here.
The story is not any different for the selfie cameras. The 16 MP selfie cam makes the image looked over processed. Colors blend into each other, and the image feels a little “over-beautified”.
There is no oleophobic coating on the plastic back of the smartphone so you should be ready for smudges all over the place. The design is also a bit outdated now, and the phone feels cheap to hold.
Samsung Galaxy A30 was a good device when it came out, but if you are going for it in 2020, you should definitely think again.
