More About vivo NEX 3
Vivo NEX 3 price in Pakistan & specs:
The Vivo NEX 3 price in Pakistan is Rs. 109,999. The NEX series so far has been an experimental ground for Vivo bringing innovative borderline obscure design features like the pop-up camera for example from the original NEX and the dual-display from the NEX 2. Just like the first two, the NEX 3 is more than what meets the eye. Right off the bat, the phone looks excellent, the off-screen display and glass back plus the mental frame seamlessly fit together.
At the upper centre of the back is what Vivo calls a little ring camera that kind of looks like an Oreo. You won’t find any physical buttons on the sides of the NEX 3, not even a power button. It’s nice that there are markings on the sides that let you visually identify where the virtual switches are present, and these are physically locked, so you can adjust which side of the phone they’re on.
It does have an unusual setup though; with the power button being in between the volume up and volume down buttons. There is still a physical power button, but it’s on top, you don’t have to use it since you can to run the phone with the virtual power button, but it’s nice that you still have it, in case you need it.
Design and Display:
The best thing about the NEX3 is the display; we get a 6.89-inch waterfall P-OLED display with a resolution of 2256 by 1080p. And because of the skinny top and bottom bezels plus the curved sides, the phone has an astounding 99.6 % screen to body ratio. That makes the phone amazing to look at; the screen wraps around the sides of the phone. Of course, we get cool virtual buttons, and palm rejection on the sides works very well. Quality so far is impressive, as its sharp,
it has supported vibrant colours, viewing angles are right. You won’t have any problem i=with viewing in the direct sunlight when you put the phone at maximum brightness.
The NEX3 also has support for HDR 10 content, and it’s lovely that while playing music or an incoming call, we get ambient lights around the sides. That may drain the battery faster, but this looks so pretty. As this is a Vivo’s phone,
it includes an under-display fingerprint scanner which is fast and reliable enough for daily use. It’s exciting, but if it fails three times, face-unlock gets active. That it’s like having a second layer of security just so the phone can be sure.
On top is the pop-up camera which is no longer towards the side, this one is wider, but it’s centred. Unfortunately, since we do get a pop-up camera don’t expect an IP rating, we also have the headphone jack, secondary microphone and speaker on top. At the bottom, you’ll find a dual SIM slot that unfortunately does not have space for a micro SD card, primary microphone, type C USB port and the main loudspeaker.
Performance and UI:
For software, we get Android 9pie skin with Vivo’s FunTouch OS 9.1 on top. That makes the user experience a lot different. Unfortunately, you don’t get any app drawer, but there are a few features that can come in handy, like smart motion, face beauty filters for video calling, one-handed mode. Besides that, you get a lot of customization options for display, notifications and the ambient light to appear in the edges of the screen.
The NEX3 has a native dark mode which goes hand-in-hand with the beautiful always-on display which can make for an attractive UI.
If you’re primarily an Android user like some other Android skins or stock android, you’ll have to get used to accessing control Center by swiping up from the bottom instead of the top.
The UI is buttery smooth thanks to the Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset plus 8 gigabytes of RAM. It’s a pretty robust set of hardware, and the phone can easily handle any task thrown at it, including heavy gaming, of course. Low lags, no frame drops, you know the rest, this is Qualcomm’s current most potent chipset after all.
Keeping this device running is a large 4500 milliamp-hour battery with Vivo’s 44-watt super flash charge. The phone does last a long time more than a whole day in our experience on moderate usage. It takes two hours to charge the phone from zero to a hundred when you use a standard 10-watt charger.
Cameras:
Moving on to cameras, the NEX3 packs three shooters at the back consisting of a primary 64 megapixel Samsung Isocell sensor, 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 13-megapixel telephoto lens. Meanwhile, in front is a 16-megapixel elevating camera for selfies. You’ll get quality photos from the rear camera, and the pictures look great, especially under good lighting. We get clear images with vibrant colours, proper saturation levels and contrasts.
In the pro mode, you have the option to save your photos in jpeg and raw formats. When you use the 64-megapixel module, you can expect a lot of details and sharpness, but the file size does increase accordingly. So we don’t suggest using it all the time. Also, we don’t get much noise with night shots even without night mode, which is excellent but if you want to boost the brightness and saturation and lose some noise use the night mode.
Overall subject background separation is unique, and the bokeh effect doesn’t affect the item. The phone also has excellent potential for macro shots although it’s not perfect we still get better results, for selfies, there’s some post-processing going on that boosts the look of the photos in a right way.
or videos, you can shoot up to 4k at 60fps, and you can toggle from typical to ultra-wide 5x zoom in a single shot. The quality is pretty much the same as photo quality but make sure you have a steady hand because stabilization while it’s present still needs improvement.
Final Verdict:
Now while it isn’t the best device you can get for sure the NEX3 still delivers on its part as a 2019 flagship smartphone. Of course, its main selling points though are that stunning design and display, the big battery that can charge fast; it’s also got a good set of cameras and don’t forget about that performance thanks to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 plus chipset.
