It’s the Mi A4 from Xiaomi, and the reason we have been following this series of the smartphone is that; in our opinion, for the budget part of the smartphone marketplace, these phones gave you a pixel-like experience. It’s not about like the craziest spec list, but instead, it’s about what’s on the other side, which is Android Q.

The Android One program which is giving you a pixel-like, immaculate, OS experience. The build quality is excellent; it’s all solid glass; Corning Gorilla Glass 6.0 actually on the front and back and metal on the sides. In outdoor lighting conditions, it will do an outstanding job, and even when you will enable the portrait mode, it will come out well. We also like the fact that even in the wide-angle lens, the camera will do an outstanding job.

In indoor lighting conditions, the pictures will also come out very well. The images might get slightly soft, but again considering the competition and the pricing around this one in the market, this will do much better.

Cameras got us a bit curious. The app will look like more typical Xiaomi, and less Google pixel and will snap a quick photo. If we talk about the front camera, it will have a 32MP camera lens, and they say it’ll have a lot of megapixels on the front camera. The picture will be a perfect blend of Sharpness, details, good contrasts, and Vibrant colors.

Performance:

Because it is running Android Q, all of your Google apps will be pre-installed by default. And if you try to get rid of Mi-community, you can also easily uninstall it. So, even that’s not a big deal; we are glad that those aren’t locked or anything. It will give you authentic Android one experience; you can get rid of the things that you don’t use. This device will also have quite a bit of wobble to it, due to the camera hump, and we feel it’s worth noting.

Android Q is not officially the same software as the pixel; you may not see updates exactly as fast, but presumably and historically. You’ve seen updates to this OS faster than the skin stuff from the manufacturers, which needs to be updated.

In day to day usage, we would say heating will not be an issue unless you’re just gaming continuously for a long time.

This phone will have a 4000 mAh battery, and we have to say idle drain and battery standby time will be okay. It can easily last for about one and a half and if you’re sort of a casual user – even – about two days. For typical days usage, we would say it will last easily for about anywhere between 6 to 7 hours of Screen-On-Time. Besides that, you would be able to play games on a standard graphics setting, and this phone will be best for massive gamers.
