Pakistan Super League 9 (PSL)

The ninth edition of Pakistan’s premier T20 tournament, Pakistan Super League (PSL) is right around the corner as the six PSL franchises battle it out to be crowned as the PSL champions. PSL 9 is set to be played across four venues in Pakistan, with the fanfare around PSL at its peak.

PSL 2024 will feature a host of local and foreign T20 stars as the six franchises have built their star-studded squads to challenge for the title. The likes of Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Rizwan and many other talented Pakistani players will be joined by foreign T20 talents such as Wanindu Hasaranga, Kieron Pollard, David Willey, Dawid Malan, Reece Topley, Reeza Hendricks, Rovman Powell, Alex Hales, Colin Munro and many more.

PSL History | Historic Moments

PSL has entered its 9th season and it has been a wonderful ride for all the six franchises involved in the tournament. Lahore Qalandars are the defending champions as they created history in PSL 8 by becoming the first side in the history of the competition to win two consecutive titles.

Meanwhile, Islamabad United are the other team in PSL to win the tournament on more than one occasion. They won the inaugural edition of PSL while they won the third edition of the tournament as well. United will be looking to win their third title and first since PSL 3.

Multan Sultans are one of the most successful sides in the recent history of PSL. They won PSL 6 and since then they have reached the final of every tournament, but have failed to win the tournament again. They will be hoping to go one step further this time around and win PSL 9, for the second time in history.

Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators and Karachi Kings are the other three teams that have won the tournament once, PSL 2, PSL 4 and PSL 5 respectively. All these sides will be hoping to join Lahore and Islamabad in becoming multiple winners of PSL.

PSL 9 News and Updates

PSL 9 is set to take Pakistan cricket by storm as six franchises battle it out for a period of one month to fight for the coveted PSL trophy.

PSL 2024 will see a host of new faces taking part in the tournament for the first time in the tournament. The likes of Hasaranga, Topley, Reeza Hendricks will be in action in the PSL as fans eagerly wait to see their favorite players play in the tournament.

PSL 9 draft witnessed some exciting picks by all six PSL franchises while the PSL trade window also witnessed some blockbuster deals. Naseem Shah and Imad Wasim moved to Islamabad United while Rilee Rossouw and Iftikhar Ahmed switched sides as well. Pakistan’s Test captain, Shan Masood also transferred to Karachi Kings while Faisal Akram moved to Multan Sultans in return.

According to latest PSL news and updates, the tournament will commence on 13 February to 18 March in four different cities. Karachi and Quetta will play their home matches in Karachi, Islamabad and Peshawar will play their home matches in Rawalpindi while Lahore will play in Lahore and Multan in Multan.
