Telenor introduces Mobile Classifieds for buying and selling products/services through SMS, WAP and WEB. Those who want to sell their item can post advert and those who want to buy can search posted adverts.

WEB
The service features a dedicated website that allows Telenor subscribers to place classified adverts or view thousands of posted ads.
A user of the web site may post an advert without registering or logging in. Posting an advert without logging in involves:
- Entering MSISDN
- Select Category
- Select City
- Add Text
A user may search for an item using an inbuilt search or browse items by predefined item categories.
In addition the main page will also feature browse categories including:
- Recently added items
- Most viewed items
A logged in user will have following options
- Edit posted ad
- Delete ad
- Create/Delete alerts
SMS
Selling VIA SMS
To sell an item via SMS send
Sell Ad text to 2277
Service will respond back with a message containing list of cities. Upon selecting desired city service will send you a confirmation message.
Buying VIA SMS
To buy an item via SMS
- Buy Search condition to 2277
- Service will respond back by displaying most relevant ad first
- Reply with ‘n’ to view the next ad.
Removal of Ads
To remove your ad, send ‘rem to 2277.
For assistance send Help to 2277 any time.

Telenor Mobile classifieds also provides a WAP interface. You can do all of the following via mobile classifieds WAP site

Hope the other operators will too come up with similar service. However, i wonder if this will not FAIL!! The feasibility seems to be Not-So-Good in the current scenario, where govt will charge 20paisa Tax on each SMS starting 1st july.
@ haseeb: it works wonders :) all you need to remember is 2277.. to sell ur car type “Sell Adtext” and send it to 2277.. silmilarly to buy a suzuki liana type “Buy Suzuki Liana” and send to 2277.. i have used this service by telenor and i loved it :) love to telenorrr
@ maddy: i think 20 paisas tax has not been levied nw.. the cost of this service is Rs 3 plus tax… and i think its wonderful, it does not fail and secondly, i mean u can place ur ad in just 3 rupees.. i l say HATS OFF TELENOR.
