foodpanda and Eatoye have decided to merge operations, we have checked with the sources. While the two will continue to operate as separate brands, both the companies will be working under the same roof and administration.
For those who don’t know, foodpanda had acquired EatOye for an undisclosed sum earlier this year. Then they had pledged to operate separately as different companies but it appears that both the companies are now merged into a single operation.
According to the information we have received, Nauman Sikander and Rai Umair will be leading the overall operation.
Sources suggest that this decision came from Germany (global headquarter for Rocket Internet), however, the process of merging the operations is still not fully clear.
Combined workforce for the company will stand around 50 to 60 individuals, a source close to the company who wanted to remain unnamed confirmed us. The source said that no employee was removed from either of the companies as a consequence of the merger.
It will be interesting to see how a single team grows two brands in parallel that offer identical services.
It bears mentioning that the Pakistani food market is worth around Rs. 15 billion and only 1% of it is online. With two powerhouses now working under one roof, it seems like the competition is going to have its work cut out for it.

I am pleased by EatOye’s current standards.They really work on consumer satisfaction. Now with this merger with the lul FoodPanda, I don’t think the same prior standards would remain.
Eatoye has a better customer service and overall better look and feel to their website. Lets see with this unification how things unfold.
