Lenovo Z5 Pro’s Camera Slider Revealed in a Leaked Video

After Xiaomi’s Mi Mix 3 was leaked a couple days back, now we’re getting a glimpse at the upcoming all-screen Lenovo Z5 Pro courtesy of a leak. While the phone’s front is all but expected with its rounded corners and nearly bezelless screen, it is the camera slider which was the center of attention.

It’s clear to see that Lenovo chose the route previously taken by Xiaomi, rather than Oppo and Vivo. The video shows a manual sliding mechanism was employed, which is similar to slider phones of past.

While we’ll only know at its launch why Lenovo chose this way over the mechanical motor-operated slider we’ve seen before in the case of Oppo, the reasons will likely include a less-complicated construction, longevity of the mechanism, and lower costs.

No Additional Sensors

The top of the phone slides to reveal a camera lens, sensors and an LED flash, however, that’s about everything we know of this phone. The back camera should sit in the usual spot, over the slider, but it is not confirmed yet.

Another major feature which was confirmed was the presence of an in-display fingerprint scanner, which can be seen functioning in the leaked video. That will lead to a sigh of relief from users, who will now be spared the demonstration of the sliding mechanism in case only face unlock was available.

Other Stuff

As for the rest of the specs, the display could be larger than the panel we’ve seen on the regular Lenovo Z5, with nearly 95% of the front being covered by the display.

The processor could be one of Qualcomm’s flagship mid-range one, possibly SD660 or SD710. There’ll be 6 GB of RAM, and either 128 or 256 GB storage. Pricing and availability are yet to be announced.
