Huawei Teases Honor 9X With Triple Cameras and Unique Design

Last week, Honor’s VP George Zhao posted teaser images of Honor 9X’s packaging on the Chinese microblogging site Weibo, followed by a teaser video that showed how Honor devices have evolved over the years.

Seems pretty normal, but the video also hinted at the launch date (July 23rd) for the upcoming Honor 9X, which was a surprise.

You can check out the video below:

As the launch date nears, Huawei’s subsidiary Honor is trying to hype up the fans by dropping leaks every now and then. The smartphone is due to launch next week, but the company has already revealed its design. Other than that, its specification sheet has also appeared on TENAA (Chinese regulatory body) but has not been published yet.

Design and Display

Based on the images published by Honor, the smartphone will come with a triple sensor rear camera and a unique paint job on the back. The fingerprint sensor is housed on the side along with the volume and power buttons. Display-wise, the phone will feature a 6.59-inch IPS panel.

If we look at the spec sheet on TENAA, there are two Honor smartphones with model numbers HLK-AL00 and HLK-TL00. Both are supposed to feature 8 GB RAM, 256 GB built-in storage and memory expansion of up to 512 GB.

These smartphones are listed with two cameras, contrary to what was published on Weibo by the company. Hence, our best guess is that the specification sheet is for the basic model of Honor 9X and the images published on Weibo belong to Honor 9X Pro.

Other Specifications

Honor 9X will be powered by Kirin 810 SoC and will be fueled by a 3900 mAh battery. Software-wise, the smartphone will run on EMUI 9 or 9.1 flavored Android 9.0 Pie.
