Haider Ali Makes a Unique Record on Debut for Pakistan

Rookie top-order batsman, Haider Ali, has registered his name in the record books by becoming the first cricketer from Pakistan to score a half-century on T20I debut.

Haider Ali’s 54 from 33 balls is the highest ever individual score on debut for the Men in Green. The second person on the list is Umar Amin who made 47 against the West Indies at Kingstown in 2013. Mohammad Hafeez and Hussain Tallat are next with 46 and 41 respectively on their debuts.

The 19-year-old’s knock included 5 fours and 2 sixes as he smacked the bowlers around the park with a strike rate of 163.63. Watch the highlights of his innings here:

Haider’s strokeplay caught the eye straight away as he helped his team put a big total on the board. His 100-run partnership with Mohammad Hafeez allowed Pakistan to score 190/4 as the Men in Green defended the target in a last-ball thriller.
