Misbah Under the Hammer as PCB Set to Analyze One Year Performance

CEO PCB, Wasim Khan, has said that PCB Cricket Committee will undertake a full assessment of Misbah-ul-Haq’s tenure as head coach and chief selector of the Pakistan cricket team. His performance and the workload in the dual role will be the agenda of the assessment.

Cricket Committee will evaluate Pakistan’s performance on their tour of England and analyze Misbah’s role during the tour.

If Misbah were to provide an honest assessment, he would probably say that it’s been a mixed year. Misbah is an honest guy and works pretty hard and he will have a long hard look at what he has achieved.

Wasim Khan also talked about Younis Khan’s appointment as the batting consultant on the tour to England and said that his appointment lessened the burden on Misbah. He also said that PCB and Younis Khan are in talks to make his appointment permanent, although nothing has been finalized yet.

Wasim continued by bashing the critics of the team and asked them to provide him with names to replace Misbah-ul-Haq rather than criticizing his appointment.

This is the kind of challenge we face as changes to any structure or system can only be made if you have better people to bring in..

Misbah was appointed chief selector and head coach of the national team over a year ago. He took over the reins from former coach, Mickey Arthur, and former chief selector, Inzamam-ul-Haq. The idea behind appointing him in a dual role was to eliminate misunderstanding and move forward with a uniform agenda.
