We Don’t Want to Deprive Our Bowlers From Making Money: Waqar Younis

Pakistan bowling coach, Waqar Younis, has said that the workload management of Pakistani players has to be kept in mind when granting them permission to play in T20 leagues around the world. Waqar added that the players have the right to earn money by participating in such leagues.

Waqar said that the schedule of the Pakistan cricket team is the only thing that should be considered before allowing the player to take part in the leagues across the globe.

First of all I am more concerned about international cricket, as in how can the bowlers be ready to play for Pakistan and I am not that bothered about the leagues; There are policies about playing in leagues as we don’t want to deprive these kids from making money.

Waqar also talked about the importance of giving chances to young fast bowlers in the ongoing series against Zimbabwe. Pakistan has already handed ODI debuts to two young fast bowlers, Haris Rauf and Musa Khan. Waqar feels that more youngsters should be given chances so that Pakistan can have good bench strength.
