Renowned cricket journalist, Saleem Khaliq, took to Twitter and questioned the Pakistan cricket team’s decision to send former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed to carry the drinks. This incident took place in the ongoing first Test match between Pakistan and New Zealand at Mount Maunganui.

Saleem Khaliq said that the management sent Sarfaraz to carry the drinks, although there were six players on the bench. He further added that the management did not include him in the starting line-up in any of the matches, and this would shatter his confidence.
He asked the social media users to refrain from quoting examples of other international teams doing the same with their senior players.

A few months ago, Sarfaraz carried the drinks in Pakistan’s tour of England, and many cricketing journalists questioned the management’s decision. Head Coach, Misbah-ul-Haq, responded to that controversy and said that there is no shame in helping out your teammates. Further adding that he had also carried the drinks when he was not part of the playing XI.
Many social media users did not agree with Saleem Khaliq’s opinion, while a small portion of fans supported his statement.
